Gently Embrace Your Skin This Rainy Season – The “aile” Towel Series is Back in Stock

During the rainy season, when the air feels heavy and damp, many people find their skin becomes more sensitive due to humidity and perspiration.
That’s exactly when we recommend the “aile” towel series by Jonan Orimono – a perfect companion for this time of year.

Soft and Gentle on the Skin
Made with natural materials, aile towels are known for their exceptionally gentle touch.
They’re kind to delicate skin, making them an ideal choice for the rainy season when sensitivity is heightened.
So soft they’re suitable even for babies and those with sensitive skin, these towels offer a moment of comfort and relaxation after every bath or face wash.

Quick-Drying and Light – Ideal for Humid Days
One common concern during the rainy season is how hard it is to get towels to dry.
Thanks to their optimal thickness and excellent breathability, aile towels dry quickly and resist musty odors.
They help reduce laundry stress and stay fresh and pleasant for daily use.

chichibu meisen stole [Magpie]

This time, we would like to introduce the “Magpie” design of Hataoto, an original brand of Meisen scarves from Shinkei Orimono, a Chichibu City, Saitama Prefecture, Japan.

The design is by Ms. Irva Stadin, a designer from Chichibu’s sister city, Sherefteå, Sweden, and the motif is “Skatan” or magpie in Swedish.
[It is said that magpies take anything that glitters or shines and hide it in their nest. When I was a child, I used to imagine what treasures were hidden deep in those dense fir forests.]
This is a collaboration of Scandinavian design and Hogushi weaving, both of which are popular in Japan.

The magpie, also called “Kachigarasu,” is considered a bird of good luck because its cry, “Kachi, kachi, kachi,” sounds like “katsu, katsu. Also, once a year, on July 7, when Orihime and Hikoboshi meet across the Milky Way, it is the magpies that line up their wings to form a bridge. In addition, because magpies live amicably in small family units, they are cherished as “a bird of good luck and good omen.

Also available online.　→
